Job summary

Mercy Springfield in Wisconsin is seeking an RN to provide patient care using the nursing process, with accountability for the care of assigned patients. You will evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by colleagues and coordinate patient care with other departments while protecting patient rights and confidentiality.

Mercy offers a Nurse Residency program tailored to the specialty area, with sign-on and relocation incentives.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.
• Licensure: Active RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• Physical: Ability to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds regularly.
• Mobility: Prolonged standing and walking each shift.
• Certifications: BLS required within 30 days of hire.

Mercy Springfield offers a year-long Nurse Residency Program tailored to the specialty area in which each nurse is hired. All graduate nurses participate in the program, along with select experienced nurses based on their individual experience and professional development needs.

RN 6D Neuro Trauma Intermediate PCU:

6D is an intermediate ICU otherwise called a Progressive Care Unit. The unit includes a 16 bed fully monitored unit. We provide high acuity care to critically ill post-operative traumas, stroke patients, and medical overflow. Common therapies seen on 6D are lumbar drain management, external ventricular drain management, antidysrhythmic/calcium channel blocking drips, low dose vasopressors, Bipap and high flow oxygen systems, insulin drips, and precedex. 6D works closely with Cardiovascular PCU and there are opportunities to cross train between departments. We are part of the Critical Care Cluster, which includes all ICUs and PCUs. 6D offers you the chance to deliver compassionate care in a setting that is busy, team oriented, and fulfilling. Learning opportunities are endless and team members are dedicated to mentoring. Career path programs are available to transition into ICU units with an 18-month track.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program


• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.


• Physical requirements/demands: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis


• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift


• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties


• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

Transforming the Health of Our Communities

Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest. Many of these would join together in 1986 as Mercy.
