Mercy Springfield in Wisconsin is hiring a Registered Nurse for the 4D Cardiac Surgery Intermediate unit. The role uses the nursing process to provide patient care, coordinates with departments, and upholds patient rights and confidentiality under Mercy Service Standards.

Mercy offers a year-long Nurse Residency Program tailored to the specialty, plus sign‑on bonuses, loan forgiveness, and PTO frontload for experienced RNs.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Active RN license in hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; other certifications may be required.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs, prolonged standing, and mobility.

Nurse Residency Available

Mercy Springfield offers a year-long Nurse Residency Program tailored to the specialty area in which each nurse is hired. All graduate nurses participate in the program, along with select experienced nurses based on their individual experience and professional development needs.

4D Cardiac Surg Intermediate:
4D is an intermediate ICU otherwise called a Progressive Care Unit. The unit includes a 28 bed fully monitored unit. We provide high acuity care to critically ill post-operative cardiothoracic, vascular patients, and medical overflow. Common therapies seen on 4D are chest tubes management, lytic therapy, antidysrhythmic, low dose vasopressors, Bipap and high flow oxygen systems, insulin drips, and precedex. 4D works closely with Neuro Trauma PCU and ICUs for opportunities to cross train between departments. We are part of the Critical Care Cluster, which includes all ICUs and PCUs.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications:- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Additional certifications may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe.
• Physical Requirements:- Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.- Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
