Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Des Moines, IA seeks a Community Living Center Registered Nurse to deliver essential nursing care to Veterans in a multi-disciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing program with recognized accreditation.
• Current, full, active nursing license in a U.S. state or territory.
• Foreign-educated applicants must meet VA equivalency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Delivers fundamental knowledge-based nursing care to Veterans.
• Assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
• Educates patients and families about chronic illness and treatment options.
• Coordinates care with interdisciplinary team and ensures quality improvement.
• Participates in rotating charge nurse coverage and unit rounds.
