Job summary

The Orchards Facilities is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our nursing team. The RN will oversee resident care, administer medications, and supervise LPNs and aides in a skilled nursing environment that values dignity and safety.

We require a graduate of an accredited nursing program with an active RN license in WV, OH, or a compact license, CPR/First Aid, and a commitment to ongoing education and quality resident care. Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in West Virginia, Ohio or compact license.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• IV certification preferred.
• Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents and recognize significant changes in condition.
• Complete required nursing assessments and maintain accurate documentation.
• Notify physicians, families, and responsible parties of significant changes in resident condition.
• Oversee care provided by LPNs, nursing assistants, and restorative aides.
• Conduct daily rounds to monitor resident care and address concerns.
• Coordinate resident care with physicians, nursing staff, ancillary departments, home care providers, and families.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Order routine and PRN medications as needed.
• Maintain accurate controlled substance counts.
• Ensure nursing practices comply with the Nurse Practice Act, applicable regulations, and The Orchards facilities policies and procedures.
• Provide and receive shift reports regarding resident status and changes in condition.
• Identify staff training needs and communicate concerns to the Director of Nursing.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and changes in resident condition.
• Immediately report allegations of abuse or neglect and assist with investigations as required.
• Participate in required nursing in-services, committee meetings, and ongoing education.
• Promote resident dignity, safety, comfort, and quality of life.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support quality resident care.
