Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in WV, OH or compact license.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• IV certification preferred.
• Ability to complete required continuing education and annual state-mandated training.
• Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents and recognize significant changes in condition.
• Complete nursing assessments and maintain documentation.
• Notify physicians and families of significant changes.
• Oversee care by LPNs, nursing assistants, and restorative staff.
• Conduct daily rounds to monitor resident care and address concerns.
• Coordinate resident care with physicians and families.
• Verify monthly physician orders.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Order routine and PRN medications as needed.
• Maintain accurate controlled substance counts.
• Ensure nursing practices comply with Nurse Practice Act and facility policies.
• Provide shift reports on resident status and changes.
• Identify training needs and escalate to the Director of Nursing.
• Respond to emergencies and changes in resident condition.
• Report abuse or neglect immediately and assist investigations.
• Participate in in-services and meetings.
• Promote dignity, safety, and quality of life.
• Perform other duties to support quality resident care.
