Job summary

Lake Forest Place, located in Lake Forest, IL, is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time position in the Skilled Department from 7am to 3pm, with every other weekend shifts (Sat/Sun). The role involves delivering skilled nursing care in a mission-driven setting focused on wellness, independence, and residents' wellbeing.

Qualified candidates must hold an Illinois RN license and CPR certification, with at least one year of hospital or long-term care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved registered professional nursing program.
• Active, current Illinois license to practice professional nursing.
• CPR Certification Required - Accredited by American Heart Association.
• One year as an RN in a hospital (general care) or long-term care setting with adults preferred.
• Genuine interest in working with older adults.
• Knowledge of aging changes and common health problems of geriatric patients.
• Ability to direct nursing assistants.

Responsibilities

• Practice nursing within the scope of standards of nursing practice.
• Support Nursing Department policies and procedures.
• Observe and preserve residents' rights.
• Communicate appropriately with supervisors, co-workers, physicians, residents, families, and visitors.
• Accept accountability for clinical care of assigned residents.
• Make rounds on residents frequently to assess condition and response to care.
• Monitor status of residents with acute problems.
• Provide direct nursing care to residents requiring skilled care.
• Administer medications and treatments per policies and procedures.
