Job summary

Quality Correctional Care (QCC) is hiring a registered nurse for the Allen County Jail in Fort Wayne. The role is full-time, 6am–6pm, three days per week with alternating weekends. Responsibilities include med administration, intakes, sick calls, and chronic care management.

Qualifications

• RN licensure is required.
• CPR certification is required.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to patients.
• Perform medical intakes and assess fitness for incarceration.
• Respond to sick call requests and follow up with medical providers.
• Check and/or change medical dressings as required.
• Perform 14-day physicals and manage chronic care.
• Provide patient education on health concerns.
• Respond to medical emergencies and take charge when needed.
• Maintain knowledge of pharmacology, including drug interactions and costs.
• Provide direction to Medically Trained Personnel as needed.
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
