Job summary

Quality Correctional Care (QCC) seeks dedicated nursing professionals for the Allen County Jail in Fort Wayne, IN. The role involves providing comprehensive medical care to incarcerated patients, administering medications, performing intakes, and responding to emergencies.

You will work a full-time, 6am–6pm schedule, three days per week with every-other-weekend rotations. Requirements include Indiana RN or LPN licensure and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• RN or LPN licensure in Indiana
• Valid CPR certification
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to push, pull, reach, and bend frequently
• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and deliver comprehensive healthcare to patients.
• Administer medications
• Perform medical intakes and assess fitness for incarceration
• Respond to sick call requests and follow up with the medical provider
• Check and/or change medical dressings
• Perform 14‑day physicals
• Manage chronic care
• Provide patient education on health concerns
• Respond to medical emergencies and take charge in emergencies
• Maintain pharmacology knowledge and knowledge of costs
• Provide direction to Medically Trained Personnel
• Comply with current laws and regulations
