Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is seeking an Acute Care RN to join our Resource Pool, floating across Ortho Trauma, Med/Surg, Neuro Trauma, Cardiac Telemetry and Oncology to broaden clinical expertise.

The RN will provide safe, compassionate care, assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, coordinating with the team and supporting patients and families. Sign-on bonus up to $20k plus relocation bonus; $7/hr differential for floating shifts.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license required.
• American Heart Association BLS required.
• ACLS required for units with telemetry monitoring.
• Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, compassionate care to patients with varying levels of acuity.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; coordinate with interdisciplinary team; support patients and families.

This dynamic team can float to multiple specialties, including Ortho Trauma, Med/Surg, Neuro Trauma, Cardiac Telemetry, and Oncology , providing a unique opportunity to build a broad and diverse skill set. In recognition of the flexibility and expertise required to float between units, Resource Pool nurses receive a generous $7.00 per hour differential on all shifts.

POSITION PURPOSE

The Acute Care RN provides safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients with varying levels of acuity. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care; coordinating with the interdisciplinary team; and supporting patients and families throughout their care journey.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Current Iowa RN license required
