Job summary

MercyOne Clinton Medical Center in Clinton, IA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the RN Float Pool on a full-time, 12-hour night shift. You will provide evidence-based, patient-centered care in a fast-paced inpatient setting.

As a float pool nurse, you’ll collaborate with physicians and care teams, perform comprehensive assessments, and adapt to different units while upholding MercyOne’s mission and standards of practice. BSN preferred; Iowa RN license required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license or compact license recognized by IA.
• BLS required; ACLS if unit has telemetry.
• Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• Strong language, math, critical thinking and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assess, intervene, co-coordinate and provide direct patient care using critical thinking.
• Communicate with physicians, care teams, patients and families about the plan of care.
• Deliver holistic nursing care aligned with MercyOne Clinton’s mission and values.
• Perform assessments including physical, psychosocial, nutritional, functional, safety, spiritual and educational needs.
