Job summary

Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Float Pool, delivering compassionate care across four major Med/Surg Telemetry units in a collaborative, patient‑centered environment.

You will participate in direct patient care, coordinate with a multidisciplinary team, and lead the Care Team to ensure high-quality outcomes while maintaining a warm, patient‑focused atmosphere. This is a part‑time role with benefits.

Qualifications

• One year of RN experience.
• Current CA RN License.
• Current BLS Provider through American Heart Association.
• Registered nursing degree from an accredited school.
• Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient progress towards expected outcomes.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal care and support for patients and their families.
• Take primary responsibility for patient care, guiding the Care Team under your supervision to foster a team-oriented approach.

Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas has served North County’s coastal communities since 1978. We’re located at Santa Fe Drive and I-5, within walking distance of a park, fitness center, grocery store, pharmacy and restaurants.
Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas’ campus includes Scripps Clinic Encinitas and an outpatient imaging center. Position: Part-Time with benefits
Schedule: 48 hours every two weeks, 12-Hour Night Shifts (1900-0730) on varied days, including some holidays and weekends.

About The Role

As part of our site-based float pool (SBFP), you will have the chance to float among four major Med/Surg Telemetry units, gaining diverse experience while providing quality care.

In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:

• Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
• Must remain in original department/specialty
• Must remain in original Job Title
• Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted.

Required Qualifications

• One (1) year of RN experience.
• Current CA RN License
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider through American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN
• One year of acute Medical/Surgical RN experience
• Telemetry or Progressive Care experience
• Other Certifications: CMSRN, NIHHS Stroke Certification, ACLS
• Epic EHR working experience.

Position Pay Range: $59.16-$85.68/hour
