Job summary

Scripps Health is seeking a registered nurse to join the Systemwide Float Pool, providing direct patient care across San Diego clinics. The role requires ADN or nursing diploma with CA RN license, BLS, and clinic experience.

You may float to different Scripps Clinic locations, with a travel differential and full-time benefits. Shifts are generally 8am-5pm with variable assignments; occasional evenings or weekends may occur based on need.

Qualifications

• 18 months of recent RN experience, 1 of which in a Clinic environment.
• CA RN license required.
• BLS through American Heart Association.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and positive behaviors.
• BSN preferred. EPIC experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Triage and assist with patient assessments and care tasks.
• Perform clinical procedures and emergency protocols per standards.
• Collaborate with the patient care team to ensure quality outcomes.

Job description

This is a benefited, full time position generally working 8am-5pm but shifts may vary based on assignment. Required to float to any Scripps Clinic based on need. Due to travelling nature of this position, you'll receive a differential while on this team.

• Scripps Systemwide Resource Services (SSRS) department supports all Scripps Clinic locations throughout San Diego. These are outpatient facilities.
• As a member of the float team, you can fill vital roles on assignments providing critical coverage for employees' leave of absences and peak service demands while gaining experience in a variety of environments.

What you'll do:

• Shifts and locations will vary at the clinics throughout San Diego.
• Ensure Scripps patients and their families have an exceptional health care experience.
• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Patient care includes compliance with patient assessments and care tasks, triaging, completion of clinical procedures, emergency protocols and medication administration.
• Works collaboratively with the other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

• ADN or Nursing Diploma
• 18 months of recent RN experience, 1 of which in a Clinic environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors

Required Certification/Registration:

• CA RN license
• BLS through American Heart Association

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

• BSN
• EPIC experience
• 2+ years in clinic setting
• Experience with 2 providers with 15+ patients per day

Travel Requirements:

• Work between Scripps Clinic locations throughout San Diego
