Job summary

Stamford Health is hiring a Fulltime RN for our Float Pool for DAY SHIFT. The position covers three 13-hour daytime shifts (7am–8pm) with rotating weekends and holidays in Stamford, CT. The role demands coordination of patient care, supervision of support staff, and precepting new nurses while upholding hospital policies.

Qualified candidates will be CT-licensed RNs, with BLS, and a minimum of two years in acute care. BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Valid license as Registered Nurse in Connecticut.
• BSN strongly preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Maintain a minimum of 6 contact hours annually.
• Minimum of 2 years previous RN experience; acute care RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care using the Nursing Process within state and federal guidelines.
• Provide supervision of non-RN personnel and assist on assigned unit.
• Act as preceptor to new staff and/or students as requested.
• Adhere to Stamford Health policies and the Code of Conduct.
• Provide safe and therapeutic care reflecting hospital culture values.
• Educate patients and families as indicated.
• Communicate effectively with health care team and departments.
• Maintain equipment and participate in performance improvement activities.
