Job summary

Stamford Health is seeking a temporary Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Float Pool team. This role involves working with patients across multiple CT locations including Norwalk, Wilton, Darien, Stamford, New Canaan, Riverside, and Greenwich.

Shifts run weekdays, 8:00am–4:30pm or 8:30am–5:00pm, with flexible location assignments. The ideal candidate holds an active CT LPN license and BLS, with strong customer service and clinical skills to support patient care and education.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Valid license as Licensed Practical Nurse in CT.
BLS Certification.
Excellent customer service / communication skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Minimum of 2 years previous experience in a similar position preferred.
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.

Responsibilities

Greet patients, document concerns, accompany to exam room and prepare for exams.
Document vital signs and report abnormalities; assist with specimens and testing as needed.
Assist patients with mobility and transfers as required.
Provide minor treatments and assist with physician procedures.
Educate patients and families based on needs.
Schedule tests and pre-certifications when required.
Respond to telephone messages and coordinate with offices.
Manage inventory and restock supplies in exam rooms.
