Wesley Woodlawn Hospital & ER, part of Wesley Healthcare, seeks an RN Float Pool to join a dynamic, multi-department nursing team in Wichita, KS. The role covers Critical Care, ED, Surgical Services, Women and Infants, Pediatrics and more, delivering care via the nursing process.

Requires an accredited nursing program, Kansas RN license (or multi-state), and BLS/ACLS/PALS. Two years of RN experience preferred; Meditech documentation is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Active Kansas RN license (or multi-state).
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience in relevant settings.

Responsibilities

• Care across departments including Critical Care, ED, Surgical Services, Women and Infants, Pediatrics and more.
• Deliver patient care through the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Coordinate nursing care per hospital standards and Kansas Nurse Practice Act.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure effective, efficient patient care delivery.
• Participate in quality of care activities to initiate and sustain improvements.
• Advocate for patients and families while ensuring safety and cost effectiveness.
• Monitor patient progress and administer medications per guidelines.

What you will do in this role

• You will have the opportunity to work in the majority of our departments: Critical Care, Acute Care, Emergency Room, Surgical Services, Women and Infants, Pediatrics and more!
• You will be responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• You will be responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for the department specific patient population in accordance with the standards of nursing care and practice as defined by our hospital and the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.
• You will be collaborating with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes.
• You will systematically evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice by participation in quality of care activities to initiate, implement, and sustain process improvements.
• You will be collaborating with the patient, significant others and health care providers in providing and advocating for patient care.
• You will monitor the patient's progress toward the attainment of outcomes.
• You will consider safety and cost effectiveness when delivering patient care.
• You’ll be participating in the improvement of operational functions of the department.
• You will consider safety and cost effectiveness when delivering patient care.
• You will secure, administer and handle medication according to established guidelines.
• You will utilize critical thinking and problem solving skills to identify, interpret and access appropriate resources in patient specific scenarios.

What qualifications you will need for this role

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Current licensure in the State of Kansas a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• ACLS
• PALS
• 2 years RN experience, required
• Able to display the following competencies: IV Therapy, 12-lead EKG administration, Interpretation of EKG rhythms
• Meditech documentation preferred
