Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Frisco, TX seeks an RN Float to support the ED and ICU units, primarily ED. The role requires patient-focused nursing, care coordination, and effective communication with the care team.

Orientation is required for one week, and shifts include rotating days as a PRN position with weekend coverage. You will participate in delivering high-quality care, adapt plans as patient needs evolve, and contribute to patient safety and outcomes within a large, not-for-profit

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program and hold an RN license.
• Two years nursing experience is preferred or required.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of starting.
• Strong communication, critical thinking and patient care skills.
• Ability to coordinate care across ED/ICU teams.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and plan personalized care in ED/ICU settings.
• Develop and adjust nursing care plans for expected outcomes.
• Delegate interventions to team members per guidelines and patient condition.
• Educate patients and families, promote safe and effective care transitions.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to optimize patient outcomes.
• Document care and outcomes accurately in the EMR system.
• Participate in orientation and continuing education to enhance practice.

Job description

Location: Baylor Centennial - Frisco, TX Shift: PRN Days Unit: ED and ICU - primarily ED PRN Requirements: 6 shifts every 6 weeks, plus one minor and one major holiday per year. Must be able to attend orientation for 1 week during day hours if hired.
