Job summary

Oakwood Care Center in Middle River, MD is hiring Registered Nurses to provide resident-centered care in a skilled nursing and long-term care setting. You will administer medications, plan care, educate families, and ensure documentation aligns with state and center policies.

The role emphasizes teamwork, compassionate leadership, and the ability to manage multiple residents while maintaining quality care and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the appropriate state.
• CPR/BLS certification is required or preferred.
• Experience in Long Term Care or Skilled Nursing is preferred.
• Excellent technical, assessment and documentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift 25+ pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
• Team player with strong communication and passion for senior care.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to meet resident needs per standards of practice and physician orders.
• Plan nursing interventions based on individual needs and monitor implementation.
• Evaluate effectiveness of care, identify problems and develop alternatives.
• Conduct family and resident education.
• Administer medications and treatments per center policy.
• Transcribe physician orders and chart progress accurately.
• Identify and report changes in condition to supervisor, physician and family.
• Identify skin changes and follow skin management protocols.
• Order and report diagnostic tests timely.
• Follow Pharmacy policy for ordering and delivering medications.
• Coordinate rehabilitation programs with therapists to meet needs.
• Monitor CNA documentation daily and ensure assignments are completed.
• Perform additional nursing responsibilities as required by state act.
