Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse to coordinate nursing care, educate patients and families, and manage transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across settings, leads as a preceptor, and participates in quality improvement.

Current RN license and BLS are required; flexible hours including evenings and weekends may be needed. On-campus role with a 40-hour schedule, typically Monday–Friday 0600–1830, with days varying.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a baccalaureate nursing program.
• One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends and on-call.
• Demonstrated leadership, effective communicator, and critical thinking skills.
• Current RN license by applicable state requirements; state BLS competency.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care, education and transitions of care.
• Support professional nursing practice across settings and continuum of care.
• Lead through preceptor and quality improvement roles; mentor others.
• Delegate patient care according to skill level, patient acuity and resources.
