Job summary

HCA Healthcare in Florida is seeking a Registered Nurse First Assistant to support the surgical team as an RNFA. The role requires scrub and circulating experience, proficiency with operating room procedures, and ensuring sterility and readiness of instruments and implants.

The RNFA will assist surgeons intraoperatively, coordinate chart reviews, and communicate clearly with patients and care teams to ensure safe, high-quality operative care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 year experience diversified perioperative nursing experience; both scrubbing and circulating.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of start date.
• PALS within 90 days of start date.
• CNOR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates critical thinking, leadership, and planning for patient care.
• Assist surgeon in the first assisting phase during intraoperative care.
• Prepare Operating Room with supplies, implants, instrumentation, and equipment.
• Pass instruments to surgeons during operation and maintain sterility.
• Review charts for completeness prior to and after procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients, teammates, and physicians.
