Qualifications

• RN must hold a nursing license.
• RNFA role requires experience as a surgical first assistant.
• 2-5 years of nursing experience is expected.

Responsibilities

• Delivers intraoperative patient care as the first assistant to the surgeon(s).
• Pre-operatively performs focused nursing assessment and analyzes data.
• Participates in planning, delivering, and evaluating patient care within the perioperative continuum.
• Monitors patient response and modifies plan of care as needed.
• Develops and manages an individual perioperative plan of care.
• Ensures safety, effectiveness, efficiency, and cost-conscious care.
• Leads in professional development and upholds ethical practice.
• Advocates for perioperative patient safety and quality improvement.
