Job summary

Memorial Hospital Belleville in Mount Vernon, IL seeks an RN First Assist to join the operating room team. You will perform expanded perioperative duties as a first assistant and collaborate with surgeons to support patient care from pre-op through recovery.

Ideal candidates hold CNOR and RN First Assist credentials, with 2–5 years of RN experience and BSN preferred; OR experience and call requirements apply. BJC HealthCare offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• RN with active Illinois license
• 2-5 years of nursing experience
• CNOR certification and Certified RN First Assist credential(s) preferred
• BSN degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Delivers intraoperative patient care as the first assistant to the surgeon.
• Works with the surgical team to enhance perioperative efficiency.
• Monitors patient status and updates plan of care as needed during surgery.
• Administers medications per nursing standards and coordinates perioperative care.
• Engages in professional development and collaborates with the team to uphold standards.
