Job summary

Providence Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, CA is seeking an RN First Assistant (RNFA) for our Operating Room. This per-diem position will work 8-hour day shifts and support the primary surgeon with pre, intra, and post-operative care.

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, you will scrub and circulate, ensuring patient safety and organized operative flow while acting in absence of a qualified physician. A California RN license and current BLS are required, with advancement opportunities within our

• Successful completion of a course in RN First Assisting.
• California RN license required upon hire.
• BLS certification required.
• Fire and Life Safety Card within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum 3 years peri-operative nursing experience as scrub and circulator.

Responsibilities

• Assist the primary surgeon pre, intra, and post operatively with organized instruction and supervised practice.
• Acts in absence of qualified physician.
• Work in our Operating Room at Tarzana Medical Center.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Successful completion of a course in RN First Assisting.
• Upon hire: California Registered Nurse License
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• Within 30 days of hire: California Fire and Life Safety Card - National Organization
• 3 years experience in peri-operative nursing practice as both scrub and circulator.
