Job summary

Barnes Jewish Hospital, part of BJC HealthCare, is seeking a Registered Nurse First Assistant to join the operating room team. You will assist the surgeon, provide direct patient care, and work closely with the perioperative staff to ensure safe, effective procedures.

Required are an RN license and CNOR or Certified First Assistant credentials, with 2–5 years perioperative experience; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• RN with perioperative nursing experience and CNOR certification preferred.
• CNOR certification (Certified Nurse First Assistant) is highly regarded.
• Minimum 2–5 years nursing experience relevant to perioperative care.

Responsibilities

• Delivers intraoperative patient care as the first assistant to the surgeon.
• Collaborates with the perioperative team to plan and evaluate patient care.
• Monitors patient response, administers medications, and updates the care plan.
• Participates in professional development and supports peers.
