• Certification as a First Assistant (Certified First Assistant) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers intraoperative patient care as first assistant to the surgeon.
• Performs pre-operative nursing assessment and contributes to plan of care.
• Participates in the perioperative team to improve efficiency and safety.
• Monitors patient status and adjusts the plan of care as needed.
• Engages in professional development and supports peers and team.
• Demonstrates leadership in perioperative practice and ethical decision making.
• Safety-sensitive position requiring continuous alertness.
