Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health in central New York is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Observation department on a 12-hour day shift. You will participate in care from admission to discharge, coordinate plans, and document accurately using our digital platform.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in the State of New York.
• BSN degree preferred, according to NYS requirements.
• Specialty credentialing & educational degree according to clinical nursing practice specialty area preferred.
• Maintains all licensures and certifications according to NYS regulations and specialty area requirements.
• Participates in continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate, communicate and facilitate optimal provision of care through our digital platform.
• Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor and evaluate the patient’s plan of care from admission to discharge.
• Apply clinical knowledge and case management principles to coordinate and support the plan of care.
• Monitor quality metrics and ensure complete, accurate documentation in the patient record.
• Ensure care meets NYS regulations and national standards of practice and nursing/clinical service standards.
• Maintain knowledge of health care economics and reimbursement methodologies to inform daily practice.
