Job summary

National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. (NCSBN) seeks a Manager, Content Development, Examinations (RN) in Chicago to lead a team of Content Development Associates and provide nursing expertise and operational oversight for exam development.

Reporting to the Director, Content & Test Development, Examinations, the Manager will guide staff and volunteers and ensure content remains accurate, current, and defensible, while collaborating with internal teams on timelines and quality

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
Minimum of five years of relevant experience.
Four years of project management experience required.
Knowledge of industry guidelines that inform test development.
Understanding of item writing, review, and validation processes.
Skilled in clear and concise technical writing.
Skilled in quality checks for test materials for accuracy and consistency.
Ability to effectively present material and facilitate sessions with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

Manages content development staff, ensuring examination and departmental needs are communicated and met.
Leads content development activities in support of NCSBN exams; ensures test content is current, accurate, and defensible.
Collaborates with internal teams to ensure review and editing of items is done according to timelines and production schedule.
Represents NCSBN at related meetings with stakeholders and SMEs; presents at panels, conferences, committee meetings as required.
Collaborates with the Director on research and development initiatives related to new opportunities (e.g., international efforts, inventive use of surplus item inventory).
