Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to support quality initiatives and apply evidence-based nursing care across patient populations. The role involves using the nursing process, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and maintaining accurate documentation.

The RN will contribute to patient safety, participate in education, and may float to different units as needed to meet care requirements. Licensure and BLS are required; BSN is preferred for ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with multi-state compact and/or single-state privileges.
• BLS certification; additional certifications or experience may be required by specialty.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• Telehealth practice requires licensure in state(s) where client is located.
• Knowledge of ANA Code of Ethics and ethical patient care.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care with patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions and adjusts care plans with the care team to influence outcomes.
• Promotes a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Delegates appropriately to RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Maintains accurate and timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units or facilities to meet patient care needs.
• Delivers age-appropriate care across the lifespan; follows departmental policies and procedures.
