Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care across the continuum. You will participate in governance, quality improvement initiatives and apply evidence-based practices in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with the care team. You may float to other units and must sustain accurate EHR documentation and age-appropriate patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges where care is provided.
• BLS certification required; further certifications may be required by specialty.
• 1 year of clinical nursing experience; 2 years preferred.
• Knowledge of ANA Code of Ethics and interprofessional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement and evaluate care, engaging patients and families across the continuum.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources and collaborates with the care team to improve outcomes.
• Upholds a culture of safety and continuous evaluation of patient, team and unit outcomes.
• May administer medications, treatments and therapies per clinical protocols.
• Demonstrates effective communication, feedback and appropriate delegation within the team.
• Pursues professional development and maintains required certifications.
• Adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics and ethical decision-making, respecting interdisciplinary roles.
• Appropriate delegation to RNs, LPNs and unlicensed personnel.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units or facilities within service area as needed.
• Demonstrates ability to provide age-appropriate care across life span.
