Description:The Emergency Room provides care for a diverse patient population with various conditions.Common patient diagnoses include STEMI, stroke, syncope, weakness, trauma, and falls, with a high elderly population.The unit has a total of 44 beds.Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4.

The unit has a fast-paced environment with a daily census of 190-200 patients.Traveling nurses may be required to triage ambulance patients at the bedside.Teamwork and a positive attitude are essential.Advanced support services such as respiratory and anesthesia are available 24/7.Nurses are expected to perform advanced procedures including starting IVs and completing EKGs.A professional appearance is required; scrubs of any color may be worn with specific guidelines for shoes and jewelry.Nail polish must be in good condition without chips or cracks; gel or acrylic enhancements are not permitted.Good critical thinking skills and the ability to manage a fast-paced environment are crucial for success in this role.Nursing excellence and patient experience are major focuses of this unit.
