Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking an experienced ER Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Shreveport, LA. You will cover 12-hour day shifts serving a high-volume ED with 85–95 patient visits daily and a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Requirements include a valid RN license, 2+ years in emergency care, BLS/ACLS and other listed certifications, plus the ability to manage multiple patients and rapidly assess severity with strong multitasking skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent emergency department experience.
• Active RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, CPI or MOAB certifications.
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival.
• Strong multitasking and patient monitoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for 85–95 patients daily with RN-to-patient ratio of 1:3.
• Care for diverse age groups from newborns to geriatrics; manage conditions including stroke and cardiac events.
• Work 12-hour day shifts; 5 days on, 2 days off, rotating every other week; weekend rotation and holidays.
• Collaborate with charge nurses and hospitalists; utilize EMR for charting.

Description:This position requires working 12-hour shifts during day hours.The schedule consists of 5 working days followed by 2 days off, repeating every other week.An average of 85-95 patient visits occurs daily.Patient ratios are expected to be 1 RN to 3 patients.All age groups will be treated, ranging from newborns to geriatrics.Patient types include those with respiratory distress, diabetes, GI bleeds, COPD, and general medical surgeries.Stroke patients (both ischemic and hemorrhagic) and cardiac conditions (CHF, STEMI, dysrhythmias) are also common.Minor traumas like motor vehicle accidents and falls will also be seen.Psychiatric and mental health issues, including substance abuse, will be part of the patient population.Support on the unit is provided by charge nurses and hospitalists upon admission.Phlebotomy and rapid response teams are available if needed.The charting system used in the unit is an electronic medical record system.There is a mandatory weekend rotation, with the requirement to work 2 out of 3 holidays.Travelers must adhere to a dress code, including designated scrub colors and shirt requirements.The unit has a traveler-friendly culture and support for those new to the travel nurse role is available.
