Job summary

Origin Travel Nurses is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to work in the Emergency Room in Michigan on a 13-week contract. You will triage patients, take histories, monitor vital signs, and assist physicians with procedures, delivering compassionate care to patients and families.

The role requires ER experience, BLS/ACLS, and an active Michigan RN license, with travel experience preferred. Schedule is 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, offering a stable assignment for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• 2+ years ER experience (required).
• Travel experience preferred.
• Epic experience preferred.
• Completed ER skills checklist within last year (required).
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification (required).
• Active American Heart Association ACLS certification (required).
• Active Michigan RN license documented in LARA and/or Nursys (required).

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments, intervene promptly, and participate in care planning.
• Regularly assess patient needs and provide skilled nursing services per plan of care.
• Process physician orders accurately and timely; follow up on medication changes.
• Evaluate treatment effectiveness and facilitate changes to improve patient care.
• Update treatment plans in collaboration with the team.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) functions primarily in direct patient care, demonstrating competent clinical practice. This position involves triaging patients, obtaining patient history and vital signs, and assessing patients. The RN acts independently to initiate immediate care in life-threatening situations in the absence of a physician and provides care for both acutely ill and non-acute patients. The role includes performing various procedures utilizing both complex and simple nursing skills and assisting physicians with their procedures. The RN ensures comfort—both physical and psychological—to patients, families, and visitors, while providing discharge and follow-up instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments, intervene appropriately and promptly, and participate in care planning.
• Regularly assess patient needs and provide skilled nursing services as dictated by the physician-authorized plan of care and accepted standards of nursing practice.
• Process physician orders accurately, completely, and in a timely manner; follow up on medication changes and order clarifications.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and suggest or facilitate changes to improve patient care.
• Actively participate in updating/revising treatment plans in collaboration with team members, utilizing current information.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of ER experience (required)
• Travel experience (preferred)
• Epic experience (preferred)
