Cynet Health is seeking a skilled registered nurse to join our endoscopy team in Illinois for a 13-week assignment. The RN will assist with pre-procedure screening, intra-procedure care, and recovery, including moderate sedation under physician supervision.
Candidates should have at least two years of GI/nursing experience and an active IL RN license with BLS and ACLS certifications. You will work daytime shifts, providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Description:The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver.They assume responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame.The RN provides care to patients undergoing endoscopy procedures.Care includes preparation, intra-procedure, and recovery phases for routine GI procedures such as colonoscopy and upper endoscopy.The RN will provide direct patient care, rotating through the phases, and deliver moderate sedation under the direction of a physician.They work collaboratively with unit staff to provide care to outpatient populations.The RN delegates to unlicensed personnel as appropriate.Responsibilities include performing all duties required by the unit specific to the scope of service.They implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.The RN maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided.This ensures the integration of information for use by the healthcare team.They conduct an initial assessment upon patient admission.They develop an appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards and based on patient and family needs.Plans of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures are implemented by the RN.They modify the plan of care based on continuous evaluation.The RN takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and correcting safety hazards and incidents.They communicate with others directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues.Constructive feedback is offered to assist in the professional development of peers.The RN confers with colleagues to expand their knowledge base.The RN identifies their own learning needs and takes initiative for appropriate solutions.All requirements of departmental competencies are fulfilled.They prepare patients for procedures by completing assessments, reviewing health histories, starting IVs, and providing education.During procedures, the RN monitors and sedates patients.They care for patients in both phase 1 and phase 2 recovery.The RN assists during cases requiring anesthesia involvement.The overall role of the professional RN in this setting is to define, direct, supervise, and evaluate patient care.This is accomplished directly and via delegation by using the nursing process.
