Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care during endoscopy procedures, including preparation, intra-procedure monitoring, and recovery. The role involves delivering moderate sedation under physician direction and coordinating with the care team in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

• Assist CRNA during anesthesia cases.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients undergoing endoscopy procedures during preparation, intra-procedure, and recovery phases
• Rotate through prep, procedure, and recovery phases for routine colonoscopy and upper endoscopy procedures
• Deliver moderate sedation under physician direction
• Provide direct care to inpatient and outpatient populations
• Collaborate with other departments and unit staff
• Delegate appropriately to unlicensed personnel
• Maintain accurate nursing care documentation
• Complete initial patient assessments and develop, implement, and modify plans of care
• Report and correct safety hazards and incidents
• Communicate with colleagues, provide constructive feedback, and pursue professional development
• Prepare patients, review health histories, start IVs, and provide education
• Monitor and sedate patients during procedures
• Care for patients in phase 1 and phase 2 recovery
• Assist the CRNA during cases requiring anesthesia involvement
• Define, direct, supervise, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN)
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to provide direct patient care for endoscopy procedures
• Ability to deliver moderate sedation under physician direction
• Ability to prepare patients, complete assessments, review health histories, start IVs, and provide patient education
• Ability to monitor and sedate patients during procedures
• Ability to provide phase 1 and phase 2 recovery care
• Ability to assist CRNA during cases requiring anesthesia involvement
• Ability to fulfill departmental competencies
• Ability to work M-F, 40 hours per week, with start times between 6:45 a.m. and 7:45 a.m.
