CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta in California. The RN will deliver compassionate, evidence-based care, perform skilled procedures, and implement care plans within a collaborative ED team.

Candidates must hold a California RN license, with BLS/CPR on hire and TNCC within 12 months. Preferred applicants include BSN holders with ED experience, ready to contribute to high-quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • California Registered Nurse license (or pending) with CA RN licensure.
  • BLS/CPR certification required on hire; ACLS and PALS certifications preferred or to be obtained.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) within 12 months of employment.
  • Preferred: BSN and Emergency Room experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care and continuous assessment in a fast-paced ED setting.
  • Monitors patients and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Performs technical nursing procedures in accordance with ED policies.
  • Adheres to mission and patient-first philosophy of the hospital.
  • Reassesses patient needs and expedites ED processes to improve satisfaction.

  • Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other practitioners as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal care.
  • Monitors medical condition of patients and works within scope of practice.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform technical nursing procedures/skills of patient care competently, by implementing ED policies and procedures.
  • Provides care in accordance with mission/philosophy of MMCMS, and as they would like their family to be cared for.
  • Assesses and reassesses and remains attentive, so that all patient needs are met.
  • Expedites ED processes by providing professional, efficient patient care and implements Standardized Procedures whenever possible thereby improving patient satisfaction.
Job Requirements
  • Education sufficient to obtain a California Registered Nurse license. and RN experience in an acute care facility.
  • Two year minimum requirement of critical care experience within the last 3 years. and
  • One year experience in an acute care facility. and
  • Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire and
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire and
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course, within 12 - months and
Preferred
  • Bachelors Of Science Nursing and Emergency Room experience preferred over other critical areas., upon hire
  • Certified Emergency Nurse, upon hire and
  • Critical RN Adult/Neonatal/Pediatric/Acute, upon hire
