Piedmont Eastside SOUTH Campus – Emergency Dept in Snellville, GA is seeking an RN for the Emergency Department. The 11-bed unit will have you assessing, triaging, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for adults and children in urgent situations.

Schedule is 1pm–1am, 3 x 12-hour shifts, with a sign-on bonus up to $10,000. Join a team-focused, patient-centered environment with opportunities for growth and mentoring within a supportive hospital system.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• New graduates eligible; nursing program completion required.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient assessments including data collection on physical, psychosocial, and health history.
• Evaluates developmental age during assessments and education.
• Organizes data into a care plan and identifies outcomes.
• Implements plan of care to achieve outcomes.
• Delivers patient care appropriate to severity of illness.
• Oversees activities of ancillary and support staff.
• Identifies teaching opportunities and provides patient education resources.
• Communicates issues to Charge Nurse/Manager/Physician as appropriate.
• Documents patient care and concerns in the chart.

• • Functions independently to assess, triage, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for adult and pediatric patients in an 11-bed Emergency Department.
  • Able to provide intervention in critical care, emergency, and life-threatening situations.
  • Willingness to function as a preceptor, mentor, and relief charge nurse as needed.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBLE FOR:The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Performs patient assessments to include collection of data regarding the patient’s physical, psychosocial and health history.

2. Appropriately evaluates the developmental age of the patient when performing assessments, treatments and patient/family education.

3. Organizes patient data into the formulation of a plan of care; identifies additional information needed and makes care decisions based on identified needs. Identifies expected patient outcomes.

4. Carries out plan of care to achieve desired patient outcomes.

5. Provides patient care that is specific to the setting, identified needs and plan; ensures that the care provided is appropriate to the severity of the disease, condition, impairment or disability.

6. Oversees activities of ancillary and support team members.

7. Identifies teaching opportunities and provides the resources necessary for achieving the educational goals of the patients.

8. Communications issues/concerns to the Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager and/or physician as appropriate.

9. Documents patient care and concerns in the patient record.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing Required
• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

Work Experience

• No experience required New Graduates of a nursing program eligible Required
• Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
• 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNCL Multistate License. Required and
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
• Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
