Job Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to a designated group of patients.
• Collaborate with medical staff and healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.
• Perform activities according to policies and guidelines.
• Supervise and delegate duties to ancillary personnel.
• Recognize and respond to critical presentations such as stroke and chest pain.
• Administer medications, including reconciliation and IV starts.
• Assess and address patient and family needs, evaluate responses to treatments, and document findings.
• Initiate discharge planning using an interdisciplinary approach.
• Educate patients and families about hospitalization, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Ensure safe medication practices and document outcomes.
• Assist with orientation and training of staff as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred

Required Skills

• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently.
• Ability to work effectively in stressful environments.

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 3 months of hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 3 months of hire
• Handle with Care within 4 months of hire

Licenses

Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state license).

Experience

1-3 years of recent acute care experience preferred.
