Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans seeks an experienced ER Nurse to coordinate care, protect patient safety, and advocate for timely, compassionate service. You will prioritize touchpoints, monitor changes, prevent and treat wounds, and ensure clear communication across the care team.

Current Louisiana RN license, BLS, ACLS, CPI and PALS certifications are required, with TNCC for CHNOLA/UMC ERs and ENPC as a PALS substitute where applicable. ER experience preferred to join our community-focused team.

Qualifications

• Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana per Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current ACLS, CPI and PALS certifications; new grads must obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Current TNCC (CHNOLA and UMC ERs only).
• ENPC may substitute for PALS at UMC or EJMC ERs.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize, coordinate and delegate all care touchpoints for patients.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
• Monitor and engage with patients and care teams for significant events.
• Prevent and treat wounds.
• Ensure infection control and environment of care requirements.
• Ensure continuity of care and clear communication for every patient.
• Advise supervisor when assignments cannot be completed promptly or safely.
• Educate patients and families using available resources.
• Contribute to the team by assisting others proactively.

Your Everyday

Prioritize, coordinate and delegate all care touchpoints for your patients.

Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.

Monitor and engage with patients, families, and appropriate care team members concerning significant events or patient condition changes.

Prevent and treat wounds.

Monitor and execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.

Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient.

Advise and consult with supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.

Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and care services.Address patient questions and concerns.

Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.

The Must-Haves

Minimum

Current nursing license to practice in the state of Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing

Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Current ACLS, CPI and PALS certifications.(New grad must obtain within 6 months of hire).

Current TNCC (CHNOLA and UMC ERs only)

ENPC (can be substitute for PALS at UMC or EJMC ERs)

Preferred
