Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans is seeking an experienced ER nurse to join our close-knit team at New Orleans East Hospital. You’ll prioritize, coordinate and delegate care touchpoints, while maintaining a safe environment and delivering outstanding patient experiences.

You’ll monitor patients and families, engage the care team, and support infection control and joint commission standards. If you hold Louisiana nursing licensure and BLS/ACLS/PALS/CPI/TNCC/ENPC certifications, you’ll fit right in.

Qualifications

  • Current nursing license to practice in the state of Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Current ACLS, CPI and PALS certifications. (New grad must obtain within 6 months of hire).
  • Current TNCC (CHNOLA and UMC ERs only).
  • ENPC (can be substitute for PALS at UMC or EJMC ERs).

  • Prevent and treat wounds.
  • Monitor and execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.
  • Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient.
  • Advise and consult with supervisor when unable to complete assignments promptly, effectively, or safely.
  • Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and care services. Address patient questions and concerns.
  • Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.

Your Everyday

Prioritize, coordinate and delegate all care touchpoints for your patients.

The Must-Haves
Minimum:
  • Current nursing license to practice in the state of Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Preferred:
  • Emergency Room experience and ER nursing knowledge
  • Minimum Required: 1 year for a flex RN position
  • Preferred: 2 years in a related clinical area
