Job summary

100 LCMC Health in Louisiana seeks an experienced ER nurse to join our compassionate team. You will prioritize care, advocate for patient safety, and support families through fast-paced emergencies.

Required: current RN license in Louisiana, BLS, ACLS, CPI and PALS certifications (within 6 months of hire). TNCC may be required for specific ERs. ER experience preferred in a diverse, community-focused setting.

Qualifications

  • Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • ACLS, CPI and PALS certifications; TNCC for CHNOLA/UMC ERs as applicable.
  • ER experience preferred and knowledge of emergency care.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize, coordinate and delegate all care touchpoints for your patients.
  • Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.
  • Monitor and engage with patients, families, and care team regarding changes.
  • Prevent and treat wounds.
  • Ensure continuity of care and exceptional patient experience.
  • Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources.

Job description

Your Everyday Responsibilities
  • Prioritize, coordinate and delegate all care touchpoints for your patients.
  • Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.
  • Monitor and engage with patients, families, and appropriate care team members concerning significant events or patient condition changes.
  • Prevent and treat wounds.
  • Monitor and execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.
  • Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient.
  • Advise and consult with supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.
  • Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and care services.
  • Address patient questions and concerns.
  • Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.
Must-Haves Minimum
  • Current nursing license to practice in the state of Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification
  • Current ACLS, CPI and PALS certifications (New grad must obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • Current TNCC (CHNOLA and UMC ERs only)
  • ENPC (can be substitute for PALS at UMC or EJMC ERs)
  • Preferred: Emergency Room experience and ER nursing knowledge
