Job summary

CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL seeks an Emergency Department RN to provide skilled trauma and acute care. You will lead nursing assessments, document care plans, and collaborate with physicians and others to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include administering meds and IV therapies, teaching patients and families, and coordinating discharge plans. Current Illinois RN licensure and an ADN are required; a BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse Licensure is required.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing is required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Maintains certification per specialty unit requirements (BLS within 30 days).
• Basic computer skills; prior blood-drawing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications, narcotics and IV therapies per RN scope.
• Develops and updates nursing care plans for assigned patients.
• Maintains accurate patient records and documentation.
• Assess and educate patients and families; plan discharge needs.
• Responds promptly to emergencies and collaborates with care team.

Shares responsibility with other health care disciplines. Reports to Department of Nursing Director.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS****:*** Ensures optimal patient care utilizing the nursing process.* Maintains patient records and documents to ensure an accurate record of the patient’s medical and nursing care.
