CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for Behavioral Health. The RN will apply nursing processes, contribute to care plans, and participate in evaluations within the unit.

Responsibilities include medication administration, patient education, and discharge planning, with collaboration across disciplines. Illinois RN licensure and BLS are required; shift includes weekend coverage and 24 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse Licensure.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing; Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Basic computer knowledge preferred.
• Prior knowledge of drawing blood preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of medical equipment and instruments.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency in the nursing process and care planning in a specialty unit.
• Maintains patient records documenting care and nursing actions.
• Administers medications, IV therapies in accordance with RN scope.
• Plans education and discharge needs for patients and families.

Shares responsibility with other health care disciplines. Reports to Department of Nursing Director.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS****:*** Ensures optimal patient care utilizing the nursing process.* Maintains patient records and documents to ensure an accurate record of the patient’s medical and nursing care.
