Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS required; RN License in state of employment or compact.
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current PALS certification required
• Current TNCC certification required
• New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire; onboarding validated through competency tracking.
• New hires are precepted by designated staff and complete onboarding competencies.
• Residency or orientation programs may be available; competency validated at bedside.
• Annual competency verification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process for assigned patients.
• Administer medications and treatments; monitor for side-effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members and/or caregivers.
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers to manage the clinical situation.
