Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking an RN to provide care across clinic and ambulatory settings. You will perform nursing assessments, plan and execute care with physicians, administer medications, document thoroughly, and educate patients and families.

The role emphasizes leadership, adherence to policies, and participation in performance improvement with opportunities for professional growth. Illinois licensure and BLS/CPR completion within 90 days are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• ADN required upon hire; BSN preferred.
• Licensed RN in state of practice.
• CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days.
• Other unit certifications per department requirements (e.g., ACLS, PALS, PEARS, NRP).

Responsibilities

• Utilizes nursing process and critical thinking in patient care.
• Administers medications and treatments per policy and state laws.
• Maintains accurate, comprehensive documentation.
• Develops and executes patient plans of care with physicians and policy.
• Educates patients and families to appropriate understanding.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and peer review.
• Provides telephone triage and ensures timely patient flow in clinic/ambulatory settings.
• Supervises nursing support staff per organizational policies.
