This position is responsible for developing and delivering nursing and clinical education in a patient care area, from basic to advanced practice levels. The role includes planning, conducting, and evaluating unit-specific new employee orientation, education, and training in the assigned department. The RN Educator works collaboratively with unit management and Regional Education to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of patient care by providing educational support to staff.
Education/Work Experience: Bachelor's degree in Nursing and at least two years of RN experience in the designated specialty. Experience in healthcare education is preferred. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Alternative Qualifications: Candidates without a BSN but with at least four years of RN and educational experience, actively pursuing a BSN within six months, may be considered.
Current Washington State RN license. Certification in the specialty area to be obtained within one year. Current BLS required unless working with Surgery Schedulers and Surginet.
