Job description

Sibley Memorial Hospital - Johns Hopkins Medicine, is a non-profit, full service 318 bed acute care community hospital located in the Palisades neighborhood of Washington, DC.

What You Will Do:

The Nurse Educator (Nursing Practice and Professional Development Specialist) provides professional development and education to assist staff in preparing for contemporary practice and support in acquiring the evidence-based knowledge and skills needed to competently care for medical/surgical, intermediate care, telemetry and orthopedic patients. She/he facilitates bridging the gap between research and evidence-based practice ensuring quality and safe patient care both directly and indirectly. She/he participates in the assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating activities associated with comprehensive unit-based and hospital-wide nursing educational needs.

What You Will Bring:

  1. Master’s degree in nursing or related discipline preferred or must be matriculated into a Master’s degree program.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of RN experience on med/surg, telemetry, and/or critical care units.
  3. Licensure as a Registered Nurse (R.N.) in the District of Columbia.
  4. Board-Certification within specialty preferred or acquired within 9 months of employment.
  5. Current BLS (CPR) certification required.

Salary Range: Minimum 47.93 per hour - Maximum 74.29 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
