Job summary

AdventHealth Orlando Cardiovascular Surgery is seeking a dedicated educator to lead CVOR staff education programs and orientation initiatives. The role supports teaching, evaluation, and ongoing professional development within a high-volume cardiovascular program.

The position emphasizes evidence-based practice, collaboration with nursing schools, and development of educational opportunities to enhance patient care and outcomes in both adult and pediatric cardiovascular care.

Qualifications

• RN license required and active.
• Minimum 1+ year in cardiothoracic or cardiovascular settings.
• Required BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plans, teaches, and evaluates programs for CVOR staff.
• Responsible for orientation development, implementation, and evaluation.
• Participates in organizational teams and committees that plan, evaluate and implement educational offerings and programs that promote increased skill, knowledge, and professional development.
• Provides expertise in the development of educational offerings and implementation of educational programs.
• Acts as liaison to local schools of nursing and provides input for student clinical experiences.
• Participates in and uses evidence-based practice and research to promote professional development.

• $20,000 Sign-on Bonus and $3,000 Relocation Bonus for eligible applicants
• Terms: 12-month Employment Contract Required for Sign-On and Relocation.

AdventHealth Orlando Cardiovascular Surgery has 7 CVORs and one hybrid one.

We perform a full array of cardiovascular surgeries including bypass, valve replacement/repair, TAVR, heart transplant, lung transplant, multiorgan transplant, VAD insertions, impella transplant, ECMO and pediatric congenital heart procedures. Ventricular assist device, Implella insertion, Aortic aneurysm repair & aortic dissection.

The thoracic line has 3 ORs, one equipped with a Davinci XI robot.

A variety of lung esophageal, and chest procedures are done including HIOC (heated intraoperative chemotherapy) cases for mesothelioma.

We performed over 3,600 Cardiovascular and thoracic specific surgeries last year. Our Cardiovascular program is recognized as an ELSO Center of excellence for both adults and pediatrics, has a Nationally accredited TAVR program, and our heart transplant team is ranked 5th in the nation.
