Job summary

AdventHealth in Orange City, FL seeks a Weekend-Only Day Shift Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. You will assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, monitor progress and educate patients and families for post‑discharge care.

Ideal candidates hold an RN license in Florida, a BSN preferred, and have 1+ year of medical‑surgical experience. BLS is required, ABLS and CNOR are a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1+ year medical-surgical experience required.
• 1+ year surgery experience preferred.
• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Florida.
• BLS certification required.
• ABLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans.

Job Description

Weekend-Only Day Shift

Up to $25,000 Sign-On Bonus

Up to $3,000 Relocation Assistance

Based on meeting eligibility requirements; 2-year commitment required.

• Assess patient conditions and through comprehensive evaluations to develop individualized care plans.
• Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, ensuring comprehensive and continuous care.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely according to prescribed protocols.
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress continuously, adjusting care plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Document patient care activities meticulously to maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care to promote understanding and compliance.
• Advocate for patient safety by identifying potential risks and implementing preventive measures.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
• Maintain sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols to prevent infection and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Perform therapeutic and diagnostic interventions such as IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
• Provide emotional and physical support to patients and their families during recovery.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care quality, safety, and efficiency.

• Excellent interpersonal skill set, demonstrating compassion and respect to patients and family undergoing stressful procedures and treatments. [Required]

• Maintain safe knowledge of equipment, procedures, supplies, computer, IV pumps, NOVA Glucose monitor, I-STAT, Immediate use sterilization policy and procedures. [Required]
• Must be proficient in English. [Required]
• EMR charting. [Required]
• Must have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care that addresses the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age‑appropriate needs of the patient population served within the department. [Required]
