Job summary

Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters is seeking an Education Coordinator to provide care and education to staff, patients and families. The role supports program design, coordination, evaluation and implementation of nursing education within the department. Reports to department management.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree (BSN preferred), Virginia RN license, CPR certification (or within 45 days), and 6–12 months of clinical experience; pediatric experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required or enrolled with graduation within three years.
• 6–12 months relevant clinical experience.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• CPR Training required or obtained within 45 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Instructs and documents learning episodes or educational processes.
• Assists in staff orientation and program development.
• Evaluates and modifies educational processes to meet organizational needs.
• Applies adult learning principles, cultural diversity and individual learning styles in education planning.
• Plans and monitors nursing care within defined scope of practice.
