Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Seasonal Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department in Texas. This assignment involves three 12-hour shifts per week for a 13-week contract, with orientation the first week. You would be a Baylor employee and potentially converted to a regular FT, PT, or PRN role after the assignment.

The ED unit is fast-paced with high acuity patients; leadership supports learning, mentoring, and growth across the team. Night shifts from 7pm to 7am are common.

Qualifications

• A degree from a recognized nursing program or two years ED RN experience.
• 2yr ED RN experience
• A valid Registered Nurse license
• The ability to obtain a Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Using good judgment and clinical reasoning, conduct thorough assessments following practice standards.
• Identify patient and family needs, then develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans accordingly. Make adjustments as needed.
• Creating safe, therapeutic environments for patients, families, and staff.
• Managing emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering.

$1,500 completion bonus for meeting minimum productive time

Eligible for shift differentials. $3.50 for evenings, $5 for nights, and $6 for weekends. These are stackable (as applicable by time/day)

The first week is Monday- Friday orientation.

Although this is a short term (13 week) assignment, you would be a Baylor employee (not contractual, agency, etc.). The hope is that once the assignment is concluded, you will convert to a regular FT, PT, or PRN role.

Adult, Pediatric, Geriatric

Department Specifics:

Level 3 trauma center, Chest pain accredited center, stroke receiving center, average 100 patients per day, around 20-30 EMS ambulances per day.

Hours:

Nights | 7pm-7am
