Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Lake Pointe Emergency Department in Texas. This fast-paced ED handles high acuity patients, with a Level 3 trauma center status and a focus on learning and mentorship within the leadership team.

You will perform detailed assessments, develop care plans, educate patients and families, and collaborate with a team to ensure safe, effective and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• A degree from a recognized nursing program.
• 2 yr ED RN experience.
• A valid Registered Nurse license.
• The ability to obtain a Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs; create, implement, and evaluate care plans.
• Educate patients and families; document learning needs and discharge planning considerations.
• Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly while maintaining safety and quality of care.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop comprehensive care plans and coordinate with the care team.
• Prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
• Contribute to peers’ development and demonstrate teamwork and community service commitment.

Level 3 trauma center, Chest pain accredited center, stroke receiving center, average 100 patients per day, around 20-30 EMS ambulances per day.

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.

Essential Functions Of The Role
